BP plc (NYSE:BP) has entered into a new gas supply deal with Chubu Electric Power Co.

Under this new deal, BP Singapore, a wholly-owned unit of the UK based BP plc (NYSE:BP), will supply about 8 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Japan’s Chubu Electric Power Co.

The deal is signed for a period of 16 years starting April 2012.

The cargoes will originate from LNG sources that the BP plc (NYSE:BP) group owns worldwide, Chubu said in a statement.

BP plc (NYSE:BP) stocks are currently standing at 46.77.
