Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that its subsidiary Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA) will provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) during the next stage of development of Thales Australia’s Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle – Light prototypes.

Under the AU$3.5 million contract, Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA) will also deliver a trailer that will be delivered to the Australian government for further testing.

Kim Gillis, managing director, Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA), said that, “Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA) and Thales Australia are a formidable team, and on this project we bring together the best of both companies — Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA)’s leading in-country ILS expertise and Thales Australia’s protected-vehicle design expertise. Major Australian Defence Force acquisition programs, such as Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control and Vigilare, have benefited from Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defence Australia (BDA)’s ILS services. We continue to provide operational lifecycle support for aircraft including classic Hornets, Super Hornets and the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program”.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) has won a $339m deal for a 10th U.S. communications satellite.

Reuters has reported that Boeing (NYSE:BA) has received a $339 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to build the 10th satellite in its Wideband Global Satellite Communications program.

The new satellite includes new wideband digital channelizers which will nearly double satellite bandwidth over the current WGS configuration.

The 10th satellite may cost as much as $377 million.

WSG is the next-generaton wideband satellite communications system.

Bernie Dunn has been appointed as Boeing (NYSE:BA) Turkey president, and he will be responsible for coordinating all Boeing (NYSE:BA) business activities in Turkey.

Shep Hill, president, Boeing (NYSE:BA) International and senior vice president, Business Development and Strategy, said that, “Bernie has an accomplished background in international business and defense that spans three decades. He will make a strong addition to the company and build on our successes in Turkey. He will continue the outstanding work that Greg started more than a decade ago and strengthen Boeing (NYSE:BA)’s presence, expand local partnerships and grow our business in Turkey”.

Boeing (NYSE:BA), the aerospace giant, has announced that it is planning to develop a medium sized Maritime Security Aircraft.

The spy plane will be “platform agnostic” and will be built to combat piracy, provide coastal and border security, enforce economic exclusion zones and patrol for illegal immigrants.

The U.S. Navy is set to buy 13 P-8 Poseidon anti-sub spy planes.

MSA has been constructed on technologies developed for Boeing’s larger Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms. MSA provides a highly capable, low-risk and cost-effective ISR solution.

Tim Peters, Boeing (NYSE:BA) vice president and general manager, Surveillance and Engagement, said that, “The Boeing (NYSE:BA) Maritime Surveillance Aircraft directly applies advanced, proven and fielded capabilities from our P-8, Airborne Warning and Control System, and Airborne Early Warning and Control programs to solve our international customers’ maritime surveillance challenges. We’ve selected a preferred aircraft and are in discussions with a manufacturer about supplying and modifying their aircraft. Boeing (NYSE:BA) hopes to have an announcement on that element by the end of this year. Boeing (NYSE:BA), the aerospace and defense giant, has announced that it has won a $7.2 billion order for sixty 737 MAX 8 and fifteen 737 MAX 9 airplanes from Air Lease Corp.

The company also received reconfirmation rights for twenty five additional 737 MAXs.

Ray Conner, Boeing (NYSE:BA)’s Commercial Airplanes President and CEO said, “The ALC leadership team has an excellent record of placing Boeing (NYSE:BA) airplanes with airlines worldwide. They are an ideal partner to help establish the 737 MAX in the leasing market.”

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that it has received a $145.09 million U.S. Navy contract to provide the branch with harpoon missiles and training vehicles.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) will provide the Navy 34 harpoon missiles and two encapsulated harpoon certification training vehicles.

This firm-fixed-price contract also includes many missile orders from international governments through the foreign military sales program.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) also holds an estimated $1.8 billion U.S. Air Force contract to develop upgrade kits for F-15 jets that Saudi Arabia will receive through a foreign military sales agreement.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) has announced that it, along with its three major Japanese airframe partners, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Fuji Heavy Industries, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo.

Under the terms of its MOU, Boeing (NYSE:BA) and partners will commence joint research and work to create a consortium to develop industrial-scale manufacturing technology and processes.
