Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has seen a unit revenue increase as corporate travel continues to be strong.

The company may however be planning to cut jobs in order to pare costs.

Edward Bastian, Delta President, said that, “Corporate revenue momentum is continuing and our system wide unit revenue in January rose 15 percent from a year earlier, on strength in all regions. With fuel prices expected to stay high, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is squarely focused on cutting non-fuel costs and garnering more passenger revenue from new sources such as first-class upgrades. We’re going to be looking at other ways to reduce headcount and Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is considering and I’d expect we’ll probably be announcing soon another early retirement opportunity for our employees”.

Reports say that DuPont (NYSE:DD) is getting $920,000 from the Delaware Strategic fund.

DuPont (NYSE:DD) plans to use the money to develop organic light emitting materials for use in electronic displays at the Stine-Haskell Research Center in Newark.

A spokeswoman for the Delaware Economic Development Office, said that, “DuPont (NYSE:DD) will make a $30 million capital investment and must create and keep 35 new jobs for five years through the performance-based grant”.

The new agreement will provide expanded U.S., Canadian options for customers of Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) and WestJet.

Charlie Pappas, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)’s vice president – Alliances, said that, “Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)’s codeshare partnership with WestJet means an array of expanded travel options in the U.S. and Canada for our customers, with easy access to the airline’s extensive Canadian network and trans-border service between Canada and the United States”.

As a part of this move the company has introduced a series of product upgrades for its Nigerian market. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is launching a new full flat-bed BusinessElite seat on flights between Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and New York –JFK.

Mr. Bobby Bryan, Delta Air Lines Sales Manager West and East Africa, said that, “Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is enhancing its onboard product on more than 150 aircraft to offer full flat-bed seating in BusinessElite on all international widebody flights with the rolling out of a new full flat-bed BusinessElite seat on flights between Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and New York-JFK, via Accra, Ghana”.

The 787 Dreamliner visited the African continent for the first time to kick off the six-month worldwide tour featuring the Dreamliner.

The Boeing (NYSE:BA) 787 Dreamliner Airplane is scheduled to visit Ethiopia and Kenya during the tour.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) announced that it has partnered with AIR Nigeria to launch a nonstop service between Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Accra’s Kotoka International Airport, Ghana., effective December 1.

The service will be effective on December 1 and will operate twice weekly.

Bobby Bryan, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)’s Sales Manager for West and East Africa, said that, “Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is delighted to offer a new service for our customers between Nigeria and Ghana, complementing our existing service to the United States. Transaero will become the launch customer for the Boeing 747-8I in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe.

Marty Bentrott, Vice president of Sales for Russia, Central Asia and Middle East, Boeing (NYSE:BA) Commercial Airplanes, said that, “With its selection of the 747-8I, Transaero becomes the first airline in Russia and Eastern Europe to make a purchase decision on the latest passenger model of the 747, an airplane famous for its low operating costs and unparalleled passenger appeal. Boeing (NYSE:BA) is very proud of our continuing relationship with Transaero – the first Russian operator of Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft and the first Russian operator of passenger 747s. In the one-year program, students will learn how a global business operates by working in the sales force, handling specific projects and making analytical presentations.
