Boeing (NYSE:BA)’s Africa portion of Boeing’s 787 Dream Tour has been launched.
The 787 Dreamliner visited the African continent for the first time to kick off the six-month worldwide tour featuring the Dreamliner.
The Boeing (NYSE:BA) 787 Dreamliner Airplane is scheduled to visit Ethiopia and Kenya during the tour.
Van Rex Gallard, vice president of Sales for Africa, Latin America & Caribbean, Boeing (NYSE:BA) Commercial Airplanes, said that, “Aviation throughout Africa continues to grow at a pace faster than the world average and it is airplanes like the game-changing 787, and airlines like Ethiopian Airlines, that will help spur that growth. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has collaborated with Air Nigeria on a new service.
Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) Makes Nigeria Deal
Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) announced that it has partnered with AIR Nigeria to launch a nonstop service between Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Accra’s Kotoka International Airport, Ghana., effective December 1.
The service will be effective on December 1 and will operate twice weekly.
Bobby Bryan, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)’s Sales Manager for West and East Africa, said that, “Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is delighted to offer a new service for our customers between Nigeria and Ghana, complementing our existing service to the United States. With the on-going support of our partner Air Nigeria, this new service will provide more travel options for our customers as well as facilitate business and commerce between both countries”.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that it has received an agreement from Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second largest airline, for four Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft.
Transaero will become the launch customer for the Boeing 747-8I in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe.
Marty Bentrott, Vice president of Sales for Russia, Central Asia and Middle East, Boeing (NYSE:BA) Commercial Airplanes, said that, “With its selection of the 747-8I, Transaero becomes the first airline in Russia and Eastern Europe to make a purchase decision on the latest passenger model of the 747, an airplane famous for its low operating costs and unparalleled passenger appeal. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) announced that it has begun its first Business School Internship program for Nigeria.
In the one-year program, students will learn how a global business operates by working in the sales force, handling specific projects and making analytical presentations.
Bobby Bryan, commercial manager – East and West Africa for Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), said that, “Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)’s intern program is a natural extension of our activity and investment in the markets we serve. By giving young business students an opportunity to learn how a global company operates, they can learn new skills, which could make this a life-changing experience for them. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) will work in co-operation with the State University, Abraka, to offer interns on-the-job training and provide valuable work experience”.

The tobacco manufacturer Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT) has posted their third quarter results with an increase in its net profits boosted by the price hike and booming demand from the emerging markets.
The company reported GBP29.2billion net revenue and GBP1.5 billion net profit.
Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT) chief executive Alison Cooper said, “We are now at a much more stable situation. Prices are now back at least at the same level or above where they were before this activity began. I would still anticipate that the market will show some decline into this new year, but not to the extent that it did last year”.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is planning a January launch for its new GoJet CRJ700 operations.

It has been reported that Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is planning to deliver the first of 15 Bombardier CRJ700s to U.S. regional operator GoJet Airlines in January.
This delivery will help GoJet Airlines to fulfill a new contract as a Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) Connection carrier.
According to Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), services are scheduled to start in Jan. 11, 2012.
Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) currently has access to some 15 CRJ700s assigned to its Comair division and 12 owned or leased CRJ700s contracted to SkyWest, which operates CRJ700s for Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) through its Atlantic Southeast Airlines and SkyWest Airlines units.

In order to meet huge worldwide demand, Boeing (NYSE:BA) has begun building the first 737NextGens at a rate of 35 aircraft per month, up from 31.5 airplanes a month.
Currently, the company has orders for about 310 737s for 17 airlines.
According to Boeing (NYSE:BA), “The 737 production rate will increase to 38 a month in the second quarter of 2013 and to 42 a month in the first half of 2014.”

Boeing (NYSE:BA) has delivered its first AEW&C Aircraft to Korea.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that it has delivered the first Peace Eye 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF).
The Peace Eye program includes four 737 AEW&C aircraft plus ground support segments for mission crew training, mission support and system maintenance.
Randy Price, Peace Eye program manager for Boeing (NYSE:BA),said that, ”Peace Eye increases South Korea’s self-defense capacity with powerful airborne-surveillance and battle-management capabilities that will help enhance the security of the Korean peninsula. Working closely with the ROKAF, DAPA, the U.S. government and our Korean industry partners was key to making today’s milestone a reality. Three additional Peace Eye aircraft are being modified by Korean Aerospace Industries in Sacheon, Korea, and will be delivered to the ROKAF in 2012”.
