Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) cancelled its plans to produce its Flue Vaccine product. With Abbott Laboratories’ (NYSE:ABT) acquisition of pharmaceutical unit of Solvay SA, the Flu Vaccine sale was one of the potential plans as per the deal.
“We explored the potential to sell it, and we determined it was in the best interest of both Abbott and the vaccine business to retain it and integrate it into the company,” spokesman Scott Stoffel said.
He refused to comment on the reasons behind Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT)’s cancellation of the sales plan.
News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA)

News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) CEO Murdoch has commented on the tumultuous state of the global economy. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) has mentioned sovereign debt pressures, “soaring” deficits and “unacceptable” U.S. unemployment rates as the major reasons behind the situation.
“Others may see more positive signs, but I believe until these issues are addressed, markets, governments, currencies and consumer behaviour will be unpredictable,” he added in a letter to the shareholders.
Sunoco (NYSE:SUN)

As per the announcement from the board of directors, the fourth quarter cash dividend will be of $0.15 per share on full shares.
The dividend calculated on common outstanding stock is payable on December 10 of this year. The shareholders having record until the close of business on November 17 shall be eligible for the benefit.
Sunoco (NYSE:SUN) is a major transportation oil provider in the United States mainly operating in the East Coast and Midwest regions.
