Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ:COST) turned in higher sales volume this August versus the year ago period. The seven percent gain in the same store sales that Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ:COST) announced is a significant change from previous year’s minus two percent result.
Although the same store sales got off to a better start this year, the four percent drop in June had made investors a bit worried, as they feared a return to the 2008 recession performance levels.
Costco’s August sales were $5.9 Billion.
Valero Energy (NYSE:VLO)

Valero Energy (NYSE:VLO) recently donated $300,000 to 25 charitable organizations in South Jersey. The donation totalling $300,000 was distributed among 25 charitable organizations in South Jersey who serve kids in the area.
The checks distributed by the company ranged in size from $2,000 to $45,000 and the agencies involved in the program include The Arc Gloucester, Paulsboro Community Center, Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester County, Urban Promise Ministries, South Jersey Eye Center and Glassboro Child Development Center.
The agencies were handpicked by the Valero Energy (NYSE:VLO) employees.
Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA)

As per the latest forecast from the jet giant, the North American Airlines are expected to take delivery of around 7,200 aircrafts by 2029. The dollar amount of the delivery is said to be $700 Billion in value.
The 20 years forecast by Boeing (NYSE:BA) has also said that 75% of the total deliveries will be narrow bodies.
“New airplane deliveries in Canada and the United States will be driven largely by the need to retire older, less fuel-efficient single-aisle airplanes and regional jets, as airlines replace them with new-generation, more fuel-efficient models,” the Company stated.
