Tesco PLC (LON:TSCO) has defeated Asda in its bid to buy more land in Scarborough. The offer from Tesco PLC (LON:TSCO) for the depot site on Dean Road has been accepted by the Scarborough Borough Council.
The value of the bid, beating the rival Asda, has not yet been disclosed. Tesco PLC (LON:TSCO)’s offer was a joint bid with Assura Properties limited.
“Full council’s decision to accept the offer from Tesco and Assura…is the best sale we could have achieved for the disposal of our Dean Road depot site,” Nick Edwards, the council’s head of finance and asset management said.
BAE Systems plc (LON:BA)

The electro-optical capabilities of BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) shall be strengthened with the acquisition of OASYS Technologies, the private company that is specialized in the designing and manufacturing of electro-optical systems used in aerospace, industrial, defense and commercial markets.
The executive vice president of BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) product sectors Bob Murphy said that “OASYS Technology’s talented workforce and technologies will enhance BAE Systems’ ability to serve its customers as a leader in day/night surveillance and targeting systems as well as precision guidance.”
British Airways plc (LON:BAY)

A strike by British Airways plc (LON:BAY) employees has threatened to spoil Christmas for UK travellers. As per the report, the unite union of British Airways plc (LON:BAY) is in plans to have another strike around the Christmas.
The meeting of Unite and over 1100 members of British Airlines Stewards and Stewardesses Association (BASSA) at Kempton Park discussed their need to go for a new strike poll.
In case the strike happens, the Christmas season could become exceptionally troublesome for air travelers in the United Kingdom.
