Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) has joined forces with Nikon on a new chip stepper.

It has been reported that Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), the U.S. chipmaker, is working with Nikon Corp to develop a next-generation semiconductor stepper.

The new chip stepper is expected to increases production efficiency and reduces costs.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) and Nikon are developing an exposure device capable of handling semiconductor wafers with a diameter of 450 mm.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) is also planning to invest in Dutch exposure device manufacturer ASML.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) shares were at 26.70 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a -2.2% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.
