Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), the computer giant, has announced that it has received permission to radically expand its Kildare-based campus.

Intel Set For Huge Campus Expansion

This expansion is expected to create thousands of jobs and a multi-million euro investment in the area.

The County Council gave Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) the green light for a 162,000sqm plant which will be used to construct silicon chips.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) is seeking a 10-year planning permission including manufacturing buildings with total floor area of 162,536sqm and a multi-storey car park accommodating 2,200 cars.

A chemical store and other supporting work buildings are also included in the planning decision.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) company shares are currently standing at 26.59.
