Categories: News, Stocks

Here’s the final batch of breaking news stories that should affect stocks on Wall Street as trading continues today. The following stocks should see some movement: Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ) and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT).

Here is a more detailed look at the news that will affect each company as the day’s trading continues.

Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO)

Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) will expand its talent recruitment reach in October 2010 by creating a training program at Cambodia’s University of Management and Economics. Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) plans to enroll approximately 1,500 students.

“Our collaboration with Cisco Networking Academy is exciting, as it will build the skill level of our future workforce in the provinces and lead to Cambodia becoming a knowledge economy,” said His Excellency Pheakdey Tun, president of the university.

Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ)

The third quarter was a bit lackluster for HP (NYSE:HPQ), held back by slow growth in the services division, but on the flipside benefited from busy capital spending by corporations on enterprise computing systems and printers.

It’s anyone’s guess what the next wave of management will shape up to be though.

The interim CEO is company CFO Cathy Lesjak.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT)

Reports have suggested that Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) could slash its dividend. Everyone loves a dividend stock. Dividend stocks can give your portfolio both income and growth – something almost no other investment can.

But companies should beware of setting a dividend payout rate that it can’t sustain, as a dividend cut could really upset investors.

Currently Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) pays a dividend of 2.38%, head and shoulders above its peers. Let’s hope the company isn’t thinking of changing that.

We could possibly see more movement as the day’s trading progresses for Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ) and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT).
