The company holds the number one position in the smartphone rankings with 32.6 percent smartphone market share in Canada. The company has however lost 6 percent market share in the country over the past six months.

The ComScore report states, “It should be noted, however, that Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM)’s January appointment of a new CEO likely signals some upcoming strategic changes that may result in more innovative product offerings. Should this change in leadership and enhancement in product offerings prove successful, Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM)’s home market Canada represents perhaps the best opportunity to stem the tide and regain lost market share”.
