The Blackberry maker Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM) announced that it will soon license its latest operating system BlackBerry 10 to other manufacturers.

The new OS, which is based on QNX software, is in its final testing stages and the company expects to release it by early next year.

Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM)’s chief executive Thorsten Heins said, “QNX is already licensed across the automotive sector –we could do that with BB10 if we chose to. The platform can be licensed”.
