Saudi state-run mining firm Maaden and its U.S. partner Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) awarded 1.03 billion riyals ($274.7 million) worth of contracts to build a mega aluminium complex in Saudi Arabia for the Maaden-Alcoa joint venture.

The contracts were awarded to various companies: German firms SMS Siemag and BWG Bergwerk, Austrian firm Ebner and U.S. Wagstaff, Maaden said in a statement on the Saudi bourse website.

The finished product of these contracts will be a full-spectrum industrial complex complete with a bauxite mine, alumina refinery, aluminium smelter and a rolling mill.

Admittedly, it’s not cheap at $50 a month, but this is 4G, and the best part is, there’s no contract to sign. And, Clearwire said, Rover will not feature any data caps. Currently AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) is offering a 5 GB prepaid plan for $60 a month.

Aluminum manufacturer Alcoa Inc. said on Tuesday that its offer to buy back its 2012 and 2013 issue of bonds early is now over, and holders of $392 million in bonds have agreed to give them up for a premium.

The company said $194.9 million worth of 6% 2012 bonds were tendered, representing just 37.7 percent of the amount outstanding, and $197.2 million, or 32.9 percent, of its 5.375% 2013 notes were tendered.

A company statement that appeared yesterday says that the $110 million dam upgrade project will modernize the hydroelectric dams in North Carolina.

Cheoah, the dam which is being upgraded by Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA), will have an extended life span of 40-50 more years.

The energy output from the dam as well as its efficiency shall be increased with this renovation.

The dam modernization project had previously won a $12.95 million grant from the Energy Department.

Speculation was already rife that the new engine tests from Rolls-Royce had not lived up to expectations, and now the company has been blamed by the aircraft giant for the long delay in the delivery of 787 planes.

The latest notification from the British engine maker has stated that the first 787 shall be delivered next February, more than two years later than the scheduled time.

According to the company’s website, pipeline operator Magellan Midstream, a pipeline operator, said Tuesday it would pay BP plc (NYSE:BP) $289 million for a 100-mile stretch of pipeline in Texas.
