Those people who wish to recycle old electronics items like computers, laptops, printers and cell phones are invited to drop off them there at the event.

Jerry Morton, Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) senior environmental consultant said, “We’re hosting the recycling event at Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) locations nationwide to provide easy access to recycle obsolete electronics in a manner that helps protect our environment.”

As co-defendants in the claim, Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) owns 60% of Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals and the remaining is held by Australian company St Croix Alumina LLC.

The environmental group informed Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) that excessive discharges of cyanide and PCBs into the North Carolina lake by the company has provoked them for such a move.

Environmental groups are required by law to give companies 60 days notice prior to filing lawsuits for violations of the federal Clean Water Act.

The company spokesman Mike Belwood said that “The Company has rarely exceeded its state permit allowing limited discharges of industrial chemicals.”

Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) has announced that the demand for aluminum will double by 2020.
The Chief Executive Officer Klaus Kleinfeld suggested that this demand will be fueled largely by massive consumption in Asia, Brazil and the Middle East, and the expected average growth rate is about 6 percent every year until 2020.

Kleinfeld said in an interview in Davos, Switzerland that “We see places like China continuing to lead with growth of 21 percent last year, 13 percent this year.”
