The electronic retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) started a new campaign featuring 10 tech pioneers to celebrate its influence in the mobile technology business.

The campaign started at the Big Game stage and it promises a week of offers for its customers.

Drew Panayiotou, Best Buy (NYSE:BBY)’s senior vice president of US marketing, said, “Consumers give us credit for being a technology brand that helps people get the most out of their devices. Showcasing innovators like Philippe Kahn, who created the camera phone, and Jim McKelvey, who introduced the notion of mobile payments, first in our ad and then in longer-form media made sense. It allows these inventors to move from tonight’s spot to a format where they can share more about technology and how it might impact all of us in the future”.

The company will give away gift cards worth $50 to the customers who purchase new mobiles by the end of the year.

To be part of the offer, customers have to register between Feb. 5 and Feb. 12.

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY)’s Mobile division president Shawn Score said, “We have spent the last five years building and improving the Best Buy Mobile experience, and we are so confident in our ability to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for our customers that we are giving away $50 Best Buy gift cards”.

It’s important we allow customers to try the service and see how easy CinemaNow is… Both Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) and Future Shop are bundling the service with home theatre products and through their services teams, Geeksquad and ConnectPro respectively”.
