Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) announced that it has promoted chief financial officer Bill Humes as the chief operating and financial officer.

In his new post Humes’s responsibilities include information systems, global logistics operations and global business processes and he will also continue his oversight of Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s finance organization.

Alain Monie, president and chief executive officer, said that, “Bill’s outstanding track record and skills go beyond finance and I am pleased he agreed to take on these additional responsibilities. He has an excellent understanding of our business and the essential elements that are required to also oversee the operations of our critical global infrastructure. Having Bill fill this important role will allow me to fully focus on driving our strategic initiatives, which include sustainable revenue growth and improved profitability across each of our regions”.

Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM), the world’s largest IT distributor, announced that it has signed a new channel distribution agreement with SugarCRM.

Through this agreement Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s Advanced Computing Division channel partners can sell and distribute SugarCRM’s flagship product, Sugar 6.5, in North America.

Jason Hernandez, director, Advanced Computing Division, Ingram Micro U.S for Ingram Micro, said that, “Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) is delighted to welcome SugarCRM as a new vendor partner. The SugarCRM portfolio will provide our channel community with highly customizable offerings that can easily scale to meet the needs of a variety of customers”.

Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) announced that it has inked a distribution agreement with Synology.

According to the deal Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) will distribute Synology’s range of Network Attached Storage (NAS) server products in the UK.

Mike Farrah, commercial director of Ingram Micro, said that, “With the increase in storage consumption and the requirement for large volumes of data to be available quickly and easily, Synology delivers a suite of products that address this need head-on.rom home and small office to large scale business, Synology has a consistent offering that represents a new sales opportunity to our reseller partners, from retail through to corporate, but especially in the mid-market”.

Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) announced that it has partnered with Ipanema Technologies to launch new, cloud-delivered services.

Ipanema’s new services suite, AppsWork, offers WAN governance for those small-size customers at a monthly subscription fee of less than $10.

AppsWork is deployed through solution providers to customers using Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s Cloud Marketplace and is available to Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s entire network of solution providers, integrators and MSPs.

Renée Bergeron, Vice President, Managed Services and Cloud Computing, Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) North America, said that, “Ipanema’s AppsWork™ is a cutting-edge technology that enables MSPs to optimize application performance on the WAN and address customers’ concerns around the end-users experience, reliability and costs associated with cloud-based business applications. Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) has announced that it will launch new turnkey solution bundles based on HP technology.

The new bundles are designed to help mutual Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) and HP solution providers differentiate their services for the healthcare market and clearly address the pain points and needs of hospitals, physicians and healthcare organizations.

Michael Humke, Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s public sector and vertical markets in the U.S, said that, “In the health care market, customers don’t just want hardware, they want solutions, and we’ve been focused on building out end to end solutions. Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) working with HP to go to market on a couple key pain points. Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) working with a couple of companies who are focused on this. Canvys complements what’s going on in medical archiving and enhances the screen quality. It gives the clinics the tools they need to see clarity in MRIs and X- rays. Combining these two solutions with HP hardware gives us an affordable solution to go to market”.

The MSP program is designed to align CA ARCserve licensing with the revenue and invoicing models of MSPs and service providers.

Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) partners can have access to CA ARCserve D2D On Demand, a SaaS offering that leverages Windows Azure to deliver end-to-end cloud-based data protection and disaster recovery.

The CA ARCserve D2D On Demand solution provides a web portal for Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) partners to have full visibility into storage resources, usage, events, and subscription status, with turnkey usage reporting and billing capabilities.

Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) New Zealand has announced the signing of a distribution deal with Arbor Networks. According to the deal Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) will offer enterprise customers Arbor Networks’ Pravail Availability Protection System (APS).

Stuart Alexander, Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM)’s general manager for the Solutions Group, said that, “Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) is excited to be working with Arbor Networks in New Zealand. Their solutions address an acute problem for enterprises — helping them to protect their critical networks, applications and services from denial of service attacks. Arbor Networks’ Pravail will complement the distributor’s offers to other enterprise-focused vendors. Arbor Networks is also an attractive vendor for our reseller partners, and offers a very comprehensive reseller support and incentive program in New Zealand”.
