According to the lawsuit filed by the insurers, 735 crashes happened only because of the sudden acceleration, and they also claimed that Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) has failed to disclose known defects. They also state that the company has also compromised on safety measures.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has introduced a new application to synchronize Focus electric cars with cell phones.

According to the report from the car maker, ‘MyFord Mobile’, the newly developed application, would help owners monitor the charge of their electric cars, and to control certain other features of the vehicle.

Ballmer said,  “The most popular young consumer brand in the electronics business is ours, the Xbox. You could say, OK, we and Apple can go at it. But let’s make no mistake about it, for young people today it’s the exciting things they’re doing, or the things they’re doing in the—what we call the entertainment side of their lives.”

The CEO had promoted the device and the Windows Phone 7 during the CES keynote presentation.

Goldman Sachs Group (NYSE:GS) invested in Accordia in 2002 and took the company public by selling a 55.3% stake in an initial public offering in 2006 for 195,000 yen a share.

In exchange for the cash, Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) is getting the right to develop souped-up antibodies against one molecular target for cancer.

Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) has suspended its plan to build mining shovels in Chicago.
The project to manufacture a new line of mining shovels by Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) in its Aurora facility has been now put on hold due to company’s purchase of mining equipment maker Bucyrus. The Aurora facility, which has about 1,400 employees, was expected to create 300 more jobs in the region through 2014.

Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) said in a statement, “With this pending acquisition, which is expected to close in mid-2011, employees have been informed that the company is suspending all development and capital investment for Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) mining shovels at its Aurora, Illinois, facility—effective immediately.”
