Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), one of the 120 companies located in Smart Village IT Office Park in Cairo, said that it has shifted some work, especially customer support -related jobs, to other locations due to the political unrest and internet connection issues in the country.

According to the reports, “Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is constantly assessing the impact of the unrest and Internet connection issues on our properties and services.

What limited service the company as a whole provides to and through the region, mainly call-center service, has been largely distributed to other locations.”

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has confirmed that Yahoo Mail is the culprit behind a phantom data leak.
The software giant had earlier blamed a third party for this phantom data leak that had caused so many subscribers to exceed the limits of their data plan, and has now identified that Yahoo Mail is responsible for unexpected data consumption.

Many Windows Phone 7 users had complained on data usage.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) began looking into the matter when several complaints were received from AT&T saying that many users had exceeded their 2GB download limit without their knowledge.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Israel has plans to hire 100 new employees to their cloud projects.
Moshe Lichtman, the president of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s R&D center, said at the annual press conference of the company that is considering the recruitment of 100 more employees to its cloud computing projects.

“Just over a year ago, we launched a free security product. The product has had 100 million downloads in the past year, and it has the second largest share of the global market for free products. This product was developed entirely in Israel, and it will stay free”.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has fired back at Google over a recent search results dispute.
One of the top level internet executives at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) commented on the issue as ‘insulting’.

Yusuf Mehdi, a Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) senior vice president, said that, “We do not copy results from any of our competitors. Period. Full stop. We have some of the best minds in the world at work on search quality and relevance, and for a competitor to accuse any one of these people of such activity is just insulting.”

Friday 4 February

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced a security patch containing 22 updates.
The company said in an official statement yesterday that it will be addressing 22 security vulnerabilities on next week’s patch Tuesday. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said that three of the vulnerabilities are critical.

Although all patches were categorized as ‘important,’ the critical ones were the ones affecting Windows itself and Internet Explorer.

A Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) blog post says that vulnerabilities include those affecting Windows Graphics Rendering Engine and a CSS exploit in Internet Explorer.

It is believed that CEO Steve Ballmer’s decision to replace Bob Muglia at the top of the company’s server and tools division has made an impact the software giant’s organizational setup.

The top level executives who have now left Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) include Brad Brooks, the corporate vice president for Windows consumer marketing and product management, Matt Miszewski, general manager of Microsoft’s government business and Johnny Chung Lee, who was a key force in Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360 product.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has asked the US International Trade Commission to bar Ti-Vo set-top boxes.
Claiming that Ti-Vo has infringed its patents, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has asked the commission to bar the import of Ti-Vo set-top boxes.

According to reports from the software giant, Ti-Vo has violated four of the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) patents on various products including TiVo Premiere, TiVo HD, TiVo Premiere XL and TiVo HD XL.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s patent suit has been filed in a Washington court.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has reported that the Kinect update so many fans are awaiting has already been released.
The latest report from the software giant reveals that it has already released an update for its Kinect motion sensor, a much discussed update that rumors say will be released soon.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) representative Chris Newton comments on the quiet Kinect update quadrupled the accuracy of the sensors and has allowed Kinect to recognize finger movements and wrist angles. “[The update] was prior to Christmas, and it’s already gone through,” he said.

It has been reported that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is suing an employee for joining Salesforce.com
Matthew Miszewski, a former employee at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), has been reportedly sued by the company for joining a major competitor.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) claimed in a lawsuit filed in King County Supreme court that Matthew Miszewski has breached the employment agreement with the company by joining Salesforce.com.

David Howard, deputy general counsel at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), said in a statement that, “This case involves an employee with knowledge of Microsoft’s sensitive customer and competitive information going to work for Salesforce.com, a direct competitor, in a job that is focused on the same solutions and customers. This directly violates the confidentiality and non-competition agreements signed upon beginning work with our company.”

The company announced in a statement that it has appointed Waldo Kuipers as the New Zealand head of Corporate Affairs.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s public policy issues such as interoperability and standards, intellectual property rights, security, privacy, internet safety and communications etc will be handled by Kuipers.

Kuipers said that, “I am looking forward to collaborating with others in the technology industry to foster innovation and economic opportunity. It has been reported that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) cloud CRM has debuted.
Although the on-premise and partner-hosted versions will only be available by the end of February, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has made available Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, the cloud version of CRM Online 2011.

The earlier launch of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online targets the Oracle and Salesforce.com market.

The company has also offered a promotional package for the first month.

The new OneNote for iPhone allows users to create different types of notes that can be saved to a remote server which can be accessed later with Mac or iOS.

Although the OneNote application was available with Microsoft Office package since 2003, no clients for Mac were made available yet.

The new iOS application doesn’t have all the features of the web version of the Windows client.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has released a new vulnerability analysis tool.
The software giant has released a beta version of its Attack Surface Analyzer, a free vulnerability analysis tool.

The company unveiled the new application along with some updates for the previously released security tools.

David Ladd, principal security program manager for secure development at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), “Some of the checks performed by the tool include analysis of changed or newly added files, registry keys, services, ActiveX Controls, listening ports, access control lists, and other parameters that affect a computer’s attack surface.”

Friday 21 January

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has teamed up with HP to produce purpose-built hardware.
The new move is considered to be an attempt from the companies to join the stack vendors list where companies like IBM and Oracle rule, with their own iron, system software and applications.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and HP had co-launched the HP Business Decision appliance, which contains Microsoft SharePoint and Excel 2010 running on Windows Server 2008.
