Under this new deal worth $52.8 million, the defense contract giant Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) will upgrade the air force’s electronic attack (EA) pods.

Tom Vice, corporate vice president and sector president, Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) Technical Services said, “We are honored that the U.S. Air Force selected Northrop Grumman to modernize their electronic attack pods. The Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) team designed an innovative solution that provides our U.S. Air Force pilots with the electronic warfare protection they need while flying combat operations.”

Diane Miller, program director for CyberPatriot and director of operations for the cybersecurity group at Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) said, “Cyber is our business, and we’re invested in building that pipeline because we need the workforce. We have positions open. A lot of positions open.”

Gene Fraser, vice president, aerospace engineering, Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) Aerospace Systems said, “It is an honor for Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) to be invited to participate in this inaugural Global Aerospace Summit. The opportunity to exchange ideas with a wide spectrum of participants will be invaluable in providing long-term capability solutions that will help enhance defense and national security across the Gulf Region.”

Under this new deal, the defense contract giant Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) will provide SCORPION and SCORPION II Unattended Ground Sensor (UGS) systems to the Army, aimed at safeguarding soldiers by providing actionable intelligence and enhanced situational awareness.

Martin Simoni, site director of Northrop Grumman(NYSE:NOC)’s Xetron facility said, “While SCORPION remains the UGS system of choice in Iraq, Afghanistan and other deployments, SCORPION II’s size, weight and wireless performance improvements significantly increase the available mission set for the warfighter. This contract both supports existing systems and enables multiple organizations to combine their requirements for new systems, saving money for the U.S. government.”

Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) has received a new contract from the US Defense Department.

Under this new deal worth $26.8 million, Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) will operate and support a special communications system in a Bombardier BD-700 Global Express aircraft.

The plane will be equipped with a Battlefield Airborne Communications Node System (BACN) which translates and relays messages between incompatible communications systems. BACN is used at high altitudes.

The contract runs from April 1 until Nov. 16, with the work being shared between Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC)’s San Diego and Yorktown, Va. facilities.

Under this newly signed deal, both companies have agreed to be the U.S. federal dealer of the Quest KODIAK, a single-engine short takeoff and landing aircraft, as well as their preferred special mission aircraft integrator.

Bob Gamache, director, operationally responsive systems, Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) Technical Services said, “This teaming agreement between two proven companies committed to technical superiority and cost performance will produce a highly capable C4ISR platform that is very affordable compared to the competition in these fiscally constrained times. Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) believe that once integrated, this platform will be a real game changer for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for state, civil and international agencies as well as for special operations forces.”

Northrop Grumman will provide the U.S. Navy with an operational weapons system for Fire Scout by 2013.

George Kiefer, vice president & general manager of Avionics North America for GE Aviation Systems said, “The stores and payload controller provides the tactical and operational ability to further protect troops while accomplishing their missions. In addition, the SPC brings with it a comprehensive architecture for a wide variety of stores, making it a key systems enabler for virtually any platform, manned or unmanned, in air, on land or at sea.”
