Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) is set to open seven Twin Cities Best Buy Mobile stores.

The electronic retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) is going to open seven new Best Buy Mobile Stores as part of its Twin Cities strategy.

The new locations will be at Roseville, Woodbury, Stillwater, Maplewood and Burnsville.

These stores will be twice as large as their previous Mobile locations.

A Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) spokesman Jeff Haydock said, “These are off-mall stores, and we don’t currently have anything like it here in the Twin Cities. They’re not strip mall locations as much as they are stand-alone buildings, (which) you’d typically find near bigger retailers like a Home Depot or a Target”.

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) shares were at 17.61 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a -4.9% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.

It has been reported that Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) is set to open a new online store in China.

The US electronic retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) has reportedly opened a new online store in China under the RocketFish brand.

The company started trial operations on July 7 and it sold more than 1,000 items on Aug. 28.

It closed its nine stores and Shanghai headquarters in 2011, but reopened Best Buy Mobile stores in the middle of the year. The site is operated by www.new7.com, an electronics products retailing company.

New7.com’s brand director Tian Yuan said, “Many people have doubts about whether Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) will do well in China and think the company still does not understand the Chinese market. Actually, Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) has been preparing for the return”.

The struggling electronics retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) and its founder Richard Schulze announced that they have reached an agreement that will allow him to make a bid to take the firm private.

The company allowed Schulze to conduct due diligence and to form investment group. Schulze earlier offered an $8.8 billion bid to acquire the firm.

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) said in a statement, “Schulze can bring a fully financed, definitive proposal to the company within 60 days, and if that offer is rejected, he must wait until January to pursue an acquisition through other means”.

It has been reported that the electronics retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) has resumed talks with its founder Richard Schulze about a possible buyout to take the company private.

The company resumed the talks to make an agreement that will allow him to conduct due diligence as part of his effort to acquire the company.

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) has lost 11 percent of its value since last week appointed Hubert Joly as the new chief executive officer.

The company’s interim CEO Mike Mikan said that the due diligence offer still stands and it is up to Schulze to respond.

Schulze previously proposed a $9.5 billion buyout to take the struggling retailer private.

The electronics retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) will release a special student edition of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 on August 19 through its stores nationwide.

The bundled Galaxy tab will included a keyboard dock and USB connector. The special edition comes with a price tag of $250, the same price as the regular version.

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) said that the student edition will have all of the usual features like a 7-inch display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB RAM, Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and 3MP rear facing and VGA front-facing cameras.
