Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) has ended its business relationship with Mercury Public Affairs.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT), the world’s largest retailer and grocery chain, said that it has ended up its partnership with public relations firm Mercury Public Affairs.

The move came after a report that a Mercury associate, Stephanie Harnett, showed up at one of its conferences and posed as a reporter

Steven Restivo, a Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) spokesman, said, “We take this matter seriously and have taken the appropriate steps to ensure this type of activity is not repeated”.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) stocks were at 67.70 at the end of the last day’s trading. There’s been a 10.8% change in the stock price over the past 3 months.
