Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) has partnered with Astro to introduce a new channel in Malaysia.

Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) has announced that it is teaming up with Astro Malaysia Holdings (Astro) to introduce a new channel.

The companies will launch Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) XD, a brand new kids channel in Malaysia on Sept 15, aimed at kids, aged between six and 14.

Malaysia is the first of South-East Asian countries to launch the Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) XD.

Robert Gilby, Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) managing director, said that, “Malaysia is an important and growing market with a large audience that has a huge appetite for great stories and characters. The unique strength and appeal of Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) XD combined with the distribution commitment of Astro, give us the great opportunity to capture the hearts of millions of viewers across the country”.
